Geelong Cats vs Essendon Bombers Preview

The defending Premiers find themselves in the top 8 for the first time in quite a while.

They belted North Melbourne last weekend to the tune of 62 points and stay home in Geelong for this clash on Sunday afternoon.

Jeremy Cameron should return for the Cats in this match which will bolster their attack and Geelong has won their last 14 straight against Essendon at home.

The Bombers bounced back from two losses in a row with an important win against Adelaide on Sunday at Marvel.

They had 99 more disposals and 90 more uncontested possessions and most importantly, they kicked straight (17.13).

Unlike the Saints and Dogs, the punters believe Geelong can cause some damage in September with the Cats being on the fifth line of betting at $10 to win the flag.

Not only is that a very short price for a team that is not guaranteed of making the finals as yet, but the Cats have come up a very short price head to head in this clash.

Ultimately I do think they have too much firepower for Essendon but expect this one to be closer than the market suggests.
