Australian Mick Fanning is odds-on to win his fourth world surfing crown when the Pipe Masters gets underway in Hawaii tomorrow.

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has Fanning as the $1.80 top pick but Brazilians Filipe Toledo ($4.50) and Adriano De Souza ($5.00) are breathing down his neck in the title race ahead of the year’s final event.

Six surfers remain in contention including Aussies Owen Wright ($26) and Julian Wilson ($31).

As far as the Pipe Masters itself is concerned, local John John Florence is the $5.00 favourite, with Fanning next in line at $6.00. Kelly Slater is considered a $7.00 chance.

“Mick Fanning is the only surfer punters have been backing all year long. We’ve taken five times as many bets on the Aussie to take home the title compared to any of the three Brazilians in contention,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
