Aussies are getting behind Jack Miller in a big way ahead of this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, with nearly 90% of money wagered on the Moto3 race placed on the Queensland teenager.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has Miller as a $3.00 favourite ahead of championship leader Alex Marquez and Alex Rins who are at $4.50.
There aren’t any Aussies in the Moto GP race, where Valentino Rossi ($7.50) has been the best backed rider, upstaging Marc Marquez ($1.67) and last-start winner Jorge Lorenzo ($3.75).
“There’s just as much interest from punters in the Moto3 category as there is in the main event. Forget Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo – Jack Miller is the star of the show at Phillip Island over the weekend,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
