He’s decided to bow out of the One-Day format on top of the world, and according to online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au, Michael Clarke could be about to pull up stumps on his test career after this year’s Ashes series in the UK.

Sportsbet has priced Clarke at $2.00 to retire from the game altogether after the highly anticipated series, but the Test skipper is a $3.00 chance to make it to the end of the 2017/18 Ashes in Australia.

Fingers crossed, the soon to be 34 year old will hang around until the 2019 Ashes before retiring – that option is priced at $4.50.

“We’re hoping that Clarke’s decision to concentrate solely on Tests will prolong his career to the 2019 Ashes series and even beyond, but we’ve installed the upcoming series against the Poms as the favourite to be his swansong,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.

Australia are the $1.38 favourites to retain the Ashes which get underway in July.
