Preview:

Two first-up Big Bash League winners square off in a mouth-watering Sunday afternoon encounter. It’s also the first time these teams have met since the Melbourne Stars upset the table-topping Hobart Hurricanes in last season’s semi-final.

Both sides got their 2019-20 BBL campaign off to victorious starts on Friday.

The Hurricanes beat the Sixers in Alice Springs by 25 runs. D’Arcy Short’s 51 off 40 saw Hobart through a modest 9/129, before 19-year-old man-of-the-match Qais Ahmad (4/12) produced one of the great BBL bowling displays.

The Stars accounted for the Heat by 22 runs on the Gold Coast. Their innings of 7/167 was carried by Glenn Maxwell’s stunning 83 off 39. Haris Rauf (2/20), Daniel Worrall (2/21) and Adam Zampa (3/30) backed up Maxwell’s heroics to restrict Brisbane.
