Bill Shorten could face the toughest fight of his political life before the next election according to the betting.

Sportsbet are offering $1.60 that Shorten will face a leadership challenge and $1.65 he will be replaced as leader (Shorten is $2.20 to win the ballot).

Anthony Albanese is $2.40 to be the Labor leader at the next election and a short $1.50 to be the next Labor leader after Shorten.

“The betting certainly indicates that there is a good chance of some movement in the Labor leadership before the election,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
