Lord Of The Sky ($1.6) could not have been more impressive in winning the group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield on July 5 by four and a half lengths. The Danerich colt had little trouble stepping up to the 1100m last start and the way he finished off that day suggests the 1200m should not be a major issue here.

Trainer Robbie Laing has group 1 ambitions with Lord Of The Sky ($1.6) and another easy win here would bring that goal within reach.

Le Bonsir ($6.5) chased home Lord Of The Sky ($1.6) last start and the extra distance is in his favour.

South Australian filly Thiamandi ($8.5), which is also an acceptor in a listed sprint in Adelaide, is the query runner. She is largely untapped, but has abundant speed and could make the hot-pot work a little in the early stages of the race.

Nearest To Pin ($9.5) should be up on the pace and won well at Flemington over 1200m on July 12.
