Fulgur ($3.8) is a former European galloper from the Chris Waller stable which did not appreciate the conditions when only sixth as favourite over 2000m at Caulfield a fortnight ago, but as long as the track is not too wet the son of High Chaparral should be much more at home at Flemington, where he has won two of three starts with one second.
Shenzhou Steeds ($5.5) is a well-performed galloper working back towards his best and was fourth in the same Caulfield race two weeks ago. Eclair Samba ($4.4) bolted home by almost four lengths at Morphettville over 2014m on a wet track on July 5 and could measure up.
Royal Mephisto ($9)has ability and ran home well to win the Warracknabeal Cup last weekend over 2000m.
