Gary Ablett is now at better than toss of the coin odds to win the Brownlow, with online bookmaker sportsbet firming him into $1.90 to win back to back Brownlow’s after his dominant performance last night.

In a sign of how good he has been this year, it took until round 11 last year for him to be better than even money odds.

“The season still has a long way to go, but he has simply been that good that we think he might as well start working on his acceptance speech,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

In other notable betting movements:

  • Geelong v North Melbourne: All of the early money has been on the Cats ($1.33) in this one, but the Roos have firmed slightly from $3.20 into $3.15.
  • GWS v Richmond: Unsurprisingly the Giants have been given a big chance in this one at $4.00, with the Tigers drifting from $1.14 to $1.22 since losing to Melbourne.
  • Collingwood v West Coast: The Pies are $1.31 favourites in this one, but there has been plenty of support for West Coast at $3.45.
  • Port Adelaide v Hawthorn: It would have seemed unthinkable a few weeks ago, but the Power are $1.40 favourites and that’s where all of the early money has been.
  • Gold Coast v Western Bulldogs: Virtually no money for the Dogs in this one at $4.30, they have been the least backed team for the round.
  • Carlton v Adelaide: The most even match of the round, with slightly more money for the Crows at $1.68.
    • Saints a spoon chance again: The Saints are back to reality and their chances to win the spoon have almost halved overnight, in from $11 to $6.00.
    • Tigers finals hopes gone? They are currently priced at $9.00 to make the finals, a far cry from the $1.75 they were when the market first opened.
